Yo, homies!  You guessed it!  Today is meh Birthday!!  I had a great one!  Monday (we didn't have school because of President's day) a group of my friends threw me a surprise party at the Imperial Chinese Restaurant!  Then, we went to Amy's house to eat cake and watch Stewie Griffin:  The Untold Story!  It was awesome!!  My presents from my friends were:

  1. From Christina:  A shirt that says "NHHS HUB Band Tenor Sax Section" on the front, and "One is the loneliest number." on the back!
  2. From Gwen:  A bag with a "BAND" patch, and a zillion Sir Elton John comics on it!
  3. From Lauren:  A "Closet Inspector" shirt, and a box of 50 huge Pixie Stix!
  4. From Tricia:  $10! Whoo!
  5. From Zach (over a period of a fews days, haha):  3 boxes of candy hearts, free pizza, and $5!
  6. From Amy:  Milk chocolate roses, a cool blue thing (it's unexplainable), and $20 gift card to Music & Arts! (which I will probably use all of it on reeds, haha!)

I LOVE ALL OF MY FRIENDS!  THEY ARE SO AWESOME!  They fully managed to have a suprise party, and not let on at all, lol!  Today, I got to eat dinner with Nan, Papa, Aunt Susan, and Uncle Tom, at Corey's restaurant!  It was really good!  Nan made me an applesauce spice cake, which was dee-li-si-ohs!!  As for their presents:

  1. From Nan & Papa:  A charm bracelet (which, apparantly, is a tradition for the girls in our family) and the cake!!
  2. From Aunt Susan and Uncle Tom:  Flowers, $20, and a ride in Uncle Tom's '76 Corvette!

I had a GREAT birthday!!  Amy's sign on my band locker was hilarious!!!  Today was such a good day!  Well, I'm tired as shit, see ya!

In-between Indoor sessions...

Hi everybody!  Yeah, it's been a long time, but I haven't been on the computer lately, I haven't had the time!  The All-County concert went really well!  I took a solo for A-C Jazz Band, and I got a lot of compliments, I can't wait until the CD comes out (geek alert, right?)!  Right now, I have to be focused on Indoor and Confirmation (outside all my school shiz, that is...I have to have Les Miserables read by March 3! ahhh!).  We had about an 8 hour practice for indoor on Wednesday.  It wasn't as bad as it might sound/I was expecting...we got a lot done...but what sucks is, even after that uber-practice, we STILL have to practice from 9-3 tomorrow!  Indoor is too much!  I swear!  We have to perform at the South v. Goretti (isn't that weird?) basketball game on Tuesday, as pay-back for Goretti letting us use their gym.  I'm freaked-out, because I know that I don't have all my music memorized, but I know that I can't motivate myself to practice extra...lol!  Although, I'll have some extra time, because I can't come to the first competition, due to the fact that I'll be at the Confirmation retreat (Ashley Twigg, too, so at least I won't be alone).  Not exactly an improvement, but at least I won't have to embarass myself for another week, or so.  It was pretty funny on Wed., because since we were there for so long, I decided that when the instructors wanted to work solely with the Battery or whatever, I would just sit down on my amp!  (My view is, this is the pay-off for having to lug it around all the time!)  So while I saw bass drummers doubled-over in agony, I was just fine sitting on my nice amp, lol!  Yeah, people were jealous...I was telling this to someone in the band office, and Jamison was like, "I wish I had an amp...", and Christina kept motioning/mouthing at me to "Get up!", to which I responded "Make me!"  It was good times.

FUCK YEAH!  I made second chair in regular All-County Band, and I made second chair for All-County Jazz Band!  I lost to Nick Stevens for both, but...*shrugs*, oh well...Mrs. Belliotti took Amy, Zach, and me to the Mecha-Sheetz today!  It was kick-ass!  They have EVERYTHING!  But it was a kind of shitty school day...first, I had the English HSA today, which is just 3 hours of bullshit...then, I have to go to Mr. Dockerey's class, and the school gets ANOTHER gun threat, so I have to stay in his class for 3 fuckin' hours!  We just goofed-off, but it still sucked...I'm happy because I gor new Chucks.  They're black with white pinstripes.  Also, I got my hair cut/straightened, so it looks pretty good, but the straightener is only temporary, so I'll have to do it after I wash my hair next...Anyway, not much else to report here, night.

I was in a pretty good mood today...we had after-school auditions for school jazz band.  I knew that I'd make it, but there was a surprise...I made Tenor 1 over Repp.  He's Tenor 2 now.  I'm very happy, don't get me wrong...but it's sort of a joyless triumph...I'm contracting the Amy Syndrome, because I feel bad that Repp won't get to play Tenor 1 for his senior year...but I've been dreading getting pushed back to Tenor 2 since Mr. K first announced auditions...Mom said "You worked hard for it!  You need to take the hand that's dealt to you, and run with this!" So I doubt I'll become "The Martyr", even if some people start thinking I'm a bitch.  Who cares?  Sorry, but I just watched one of those depressing/cry-fest Lifetime movies (as you might have noticed at the top of this entry)...it was really good.  I'll let you find out what it's about, though.  My one regret is that I only practiced about 1/2 an hour tonight, at the most!  Why the sudden practice storm, you ask?  All-County try outs are on Saturday, and I'm gunning for Jazz Band, and first chair for regular All-County band!  Mr. K told me that A-C Orchestra's got sax parts this year (in only 2 songs, but you'll still get to do it!), and my guess is that they'll only take the first sax chairs!  Last year I only made it because only two tenors tried out, but I've improved exponentially since last year...so we'll see what transpires...*yawns* Well, I think I'd better get some sleep...

Yay!  I'm in a good (but tired as shit) mood!  ^_^  I had a good New Year's Eve!  Last year was like, my first good NYE!!  And this year was really fun, too!  I was Lauren, me, and Tricia over at Lauren's house, and we stayed up till like, 4:30.  We played the Sims 2, Mario Party, ghetto-DDR, ate pizza and junk, and watched Hercules, Clue, and The Producers (the original one)!  It was really fun!  But we had to wake up at 10 because Tricia and I had to go to church...

Speaking of The Producers, on Friday Lauren, Tricia and I went to go see the new musical-movie.  It was SPECTACULAR!  I loved it!!!!!  It's right up there with Phantom, but this one makes you feel better, becasue it's not as dreary...It's fuckin' hilarious!  I ran out and bought the soundtrack (and a Nun calender) at Borders yesterday after I had to spend, like, an hour in Wal-Mart...I used my $50 gift card, oh yeah!!   So I've practically been listening to it non-stop!  I've decided that if there's another "What I Want to be When I Grow-Up..." spirit day, I'll slip into a suit, slap on a hat, grab a cane, and just go as a producer.  I love getting costume ideas!   Anyway, I need to go practice for All-County (try-outs THIS SATURDAY)...
